Fiscal Fasting Days 2-5: Easier than Expected

When I started this fiscal fasting, I had big plans to blog about each day, much like Mid-life Mom Musings did. But to be completely honest, my week was so thought out that it would have been a series of really boring “I didn’t spend any money today” posts.  I planned my meals ahead of time and entertained myself all week by going to the gym at night. I had to say “no” a few times to some after work activities to keep me from spending but, all in all, it proved to me that if you plan you can succeed (our credit counselors love to see people succeed with their financial goals too)!

The fiscal fasting savings can be used to pay off credit card debt.

I successfully completed 98% of my fast. My one slip was when lunch time rolled around on Friday. I opted for take-out when I decided that my Campbell’s Chicken Soup just wasn’t going to cut my hunger pangs. However, I said “no” to dinner out with a friend the night before, so I know that I saved myself a minimum of $50.00. Plus, Saturday morning I made an extra credit payment of $50.00. A win in the reduce debt column!

I think I am going to try another Fiscal Fast the week of February 17 – 23 and I am going to try do all 7 days. Will you join me?
